Robert
P. Gerety, Jr.
Mr. Gerety
resides in White River Junction, Vermont. He has practiced law for
more than 20 years. He is admitted to practice in the state and
federal courts of Vermont and New Hampshire.
After graduating
from Vermont Law School, (cum laude 1980), Mr. Gerety worked as a
law clerk for several Vermont trial court judges. This experience
early in his career enabled Mr. Gerety to observe countless jury
trials and to see first hand what a jury trial looks like from the
perspective of a trial judge. Following his judicial clerkship Mr.
Gerety worked in a medium sized Vermont law firm where he quickly
became a partner in the firm. He learned how to prepare and try
civil cases under the tutelage of two of the best and most respected
senior trial lawyers in the State of Vermont.
Soon after the
senior partners retired from his firm, Mr. Gerety founded Gerety Law
Office and focused his practice on the representation of injured
persons in automobile cases, medical malpractice cases, products
liability cases, legal malpractice cases, insurance disputes and the
like. Mr. Gerety has handled countless civil actions including
automobile cases, medical malpractice cases, products liability
cases, environmental insurance coverage disputes, commercial
disputes, legal malpractice cases, etc. Also, Mr. Gerety has handled
numerous cases involving allegations of misconduct against insurance
companies. Mr. Gerety’s long and varied experience representing all
types of clients, including individuals and corporations, gives him
a broad perspective which contributes to his effectiveness as an
advocate for the rights of his individual clients.
Mr. Gerety was
raised in Fairfield, Connecticut. He has lived in Vermont with his
wife and three children since 1977. He has served as a member of the
Vermont Board of Bar Examiners and the Vermont Judicial Conduct
Board. He is a member of the American, Vermont and New Hampshire Bar
Associations, and the American, Vermont and New Hampshire Trial
Lawyers Associations.
Toni
L.K. Mayo
Ms. Mayo was
born and raised in Woodsville, New Hampshire. She graduated from
Hesser College in Manchester, Hew Hampshire in 1983. She has held a
wide variety of litigation support positions in large, medium and
small law firms in New Hampshire, Kentucky, Pennsylvania and
Vermont. She began working with Mr. Gerety in 1993. She has
continued as Mr. Gerety’s legal assistant since that time. She is
committed to providing our clients with high quality legal services
with a personal touch. Our clients benefit from Ms. Mayo’s broad
experience and competence. Files are organized, calls are returned,
and cases are prepared in a timely way largely because of her
administrative skills and attention to detail. Ms. Mayo has
extensive experience assisting at trials and she often attends
trials with Mr. Gerety where she assists in the organization of
exhibits and the millions of other tasks that arise during the
course of a significant jury trial.
