LEGAL FEES AND EXPENSES

If you are considering retaining a lawyer in a personal injury case you may be concerned that you do not have the resources to hire a lawyer. Gerety Law Office handles cases on a contingent fee basis. Generally, the fee agreement will provide that Gerety Law Office will receive no fee for legal services unless you receive a settlement, or recovery, in which event the fee for legal services will be one third of your gross recovery. Successful prosecution of your claim will also involve the payment expenses for expert witnesses and the like in addition to attorney fees. However, Gerety Law Office will often agree to advance the funds needed to pay out of pocket litigation expenses so that you do not need to have the funds to pay such expenses in most cases. In the event of a successful recovery, Gerety Law Office is reimbursed for the funds it advanced from your portion of the recovery.

Every case is different and the fee agreement will vary somewhat from case to case. The specific terms of the written fee agreement in each case, not the general description above, will govern the payment of legal fees and expenses.
